Privacy Policy
Please take a moment to read our privacy policy before ordering. We care about your private data, and commit to treating our customers the way we'd like to be treated.
Our database is password protected.
PRIVACY STATEMENT
Age of Reason complies with GDPR data regulation. We are clear that customers can choose to use this website without giving consent for us to collect data for marketing purposes. You do not have to click the "opt in to marketing" button at the checkout.
Why do you need my information?
We need it to process your order.
When you purchase an item from The Age of Reason Studios online store we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address so that we can process and ship your order. When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn which browser and operating system you are using. This allows us to display our store in the most user-friendly way so that you can easily read it.
Email Marketing Consent
With your permission only, Age of Reason Studios may send you emails about our online store, new products, sales, news and other updates. We cannot do this without your consent.
When you provide Age of Reason with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we collect your necessary info with the intention of using it for that specific reason only. If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will ask you directly for your expressed consent- for example you would tick an opt in box, which triggers an opt in email. Our opt in box says "Keep me up to date on news and exclusive offers." You can choose to tick this or not. You can also choose to place an order without supplying an email address if you wish. Plenty of people order with just a mobile number.
How do I withdraw my email marketing consent?
Just unsubscribe from our newsletter if you no longer wish to receive it. If you would like us to delete all your data, including your name, address and orders from our database, please let us know. We are unable to remove your data from payment providers, shipping providers and third party companies dealing with accounts or legal matters. However we have provided you with the names of those companies further down this page.
If after you opt-in to receive marketing emails, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, or for use of your information at anytime by clicking UNSUBSCRIBE at the bottom of our emails or by contacting us at team@age-of-reason-studios.com You can also write to us at: Age of Reason UK Ltd, Studio 504, 91 Western Road, Brighton, BN1 2LB

Payment Security
We take your payment details and the security of your data very seriously. Your credit or debit card information is processed by Shopify and is shown to us in a way that we can only see the last 4 digits of the card number. Paypal transactions are handled by Shopify, Stripe and Paypal depending on which payment method you choose. These are set up to be GDPR compliant. We can't remove your data from Paypal or your bank. Only you can do that.
Card Blocking/ IP Address Blocking
We do not hold any data about your bank account, cards or IP address other than the bare minimum required to process an order. Shopify may sometimes block a card or an IP address if a card transaction is declined multiple times in quick succession. We have seen this happen when a card is used 5- 10 times in quick succession and declined each time. In that instance a temporary automated block happens, which is instigated by Shopify bots. It is not implemented by a person and we are not able to unblock your card or IP address. If you think that tyour card has been clocked please contact your bank directly.
PCI-DSS
We follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards. Our website is powered by Shopify, which is considered safe.
Your personal and payment data is password protected within Shopify with a double layer of security provided by a unique login code. Each time we log into Shopify we are required to enter a new pin code.
